Undergraduate Admissions

The University of Oxford has one application deadline each year for undergraduate studies, this is in mid-October, for entry the following year. You need to submit your UCAS application form online to http://www.ucas.com by 14th October 2009. Your portfolio then needs to be delivered to the Ruskin by noon on Saturday 14th November 2009. Unfortunately, no application can be processed without both of these submissions having been received. For more detailed information on the admissions process and on preparing a portfolio, please see the attached forms. Also, do refer to the website of the University’s Admissions Office: http://www.admissions.ox.ac.uk
* * * Please note that in 2009, there are major road works being undertaken in the High Street in Oxford. This therefore means that portfolios may have to be delivered to the Examination Schools, next door to the Ruskin, as our entrance may be closed. Please check this webpage closer to the deadline to confirm the delivery address. * * *
If you are thinking about applying to the Ruskin, the Fine Art Department of the University, it’s a good idea, if you can, to attend one of our open days. These days are organised throughout the year. Please check the News section of the Ruskin website for the dates. These days are an opportunity for you to meet some of the tutors and students, tour the studios and generally find out more about the school.
In order to study at Oxford, you need to belong to a college. There are a total of 15 colleges at Oxford that accept fine art students. Please see the attached list for further details. Each of the colleges also have open days throughout the year to help you make your selection of which college you would like to apply to. Each one has its own particular character, so you may well have a preference. Please bear in mind, though, that successful candidates can be offered a place at a different college to the one to which they originally applied. It is also possible to make an open application, where you select the subject that you wish to study but do not select a college. With an open application, you will then be assigned a college.
All candidates must apply online through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS). The UCAS application form and UCAS directory can be obtained from .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address), by phone on 01242 223707 or through this address:
