Alumni at the Venice Biennale
Several Ruskin alumni were present at the opening of the 54th Venice Biennale including Nathaniel Mellors, Holly Slingsby, Conrad Shawcross, Chiara Williams, Adam Lowe, Michael Stanley and John Gerrard.
BFA Finalists Kinga Luboweika and Flo Mather and tutor Oona Grimes showed works on paper alongside others including Chiara Williams at WW Gallery’s Afternoon Tea exhibition. Holly Slingsby, Manager at Matt’s Gallery worked as a representative for Mike Nelson in the British Pavilion and also Nathaniel Mellors in the main Giardini Pavilion. In her role at artist, Holly also gave a performance one evening. Adam Lowe was present as curator of Penelope’s Labour and Conrad Shawcross had work in The Knowledge curated by James Putnam. Michael Stanley represented Modern Art Oxford who have held major groundbreaking solo shows of Karla Black (Scottish Pavilion), Thomas Houseago (Palazzo Grassi and Dogana) and Roman Ondak (Arsenale) in the last few years.
