Tom Woolner at Tintype
Private View: Wednesday 25 January 6-8.30 pm
During January and February 2012, London-based artist Tom Woolner will make a new sculptural installation on site at Tintype. His practice has recently taken the form of performance-based events with live work made for The Barbican, London and a residency and commission for Site Gallery, Sheffield. However, he will use this month-long project as an exercise in exploring his work in sculpture and drawing, developing his playful, cartoon-dumb language, both in, and for, the space.
Tom Woolner lives and works in London. His work has been featured in Frieze, Art Monthly, Modern Painters and The Guardian and he is the recipient of awards from Site Gallery, The Elephant Trust, The Danish Arts Council and Beck’s Futures. He is a tutor at The Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art, Oxford.
