Michaelmas Term Prizes
This term two new prizes were awarded to Ruskin students.
The 15 New Bridge Street Prize judging took place on Friday 28 October. This prize was open to all BFA second year students and the judges were so impressed by the work that the prize value was increased to £600 and shared between Thomas Treherne for his painting Trees by the Washing Line and Charlie Waterman for her sculpture, why say if no one’s listening. All works submitted will be on display at 15 New Bridge Street from Saturday 19 November, with the preview on Thursday 24 November.
The Bate Collection Postcard Competition, open to all students, was judged on Friday 4 November. First prize of £100 was awarded to Lara Bellenghi (BFA second year), with three runners up - Frances Reed (BFA finalist), Claire Davis (BFA second year) and Tara Morgan (BFA second year) each receiving £25. The works will be displayed at the Bate Collection and postcards available before Christmas.
Congratulations to all!
